Forever in Debt is the acoustic duo of Chris Murray and Maretha Swanepoel.
Chris Murray is an acoustic guitarist and singer-songwriter who likes to add creativity to his performances. Maretha Swanepoel is a multi-instrumentalist, playing keyboard, violin, and singing, bringing a lot of variety to her performances.
Both have a wealth of experience in music, performing at venues such as hotels, markets, restaurants, and events like weddings, festivals, and private functions.
The duo was formed with the idea of a combination of styles that work well together. What you can expect is a professional and creative performance, with a wide selection of music being played. From jazz, pop, country, rock, RnB to acoustic playing Not only do they play the old classics, but they also play popular modern music that people love to hear.
Teresa Esplin ~ Vocals
Powerful vocals with a range of just over 3 octaves. Prior to this duo, she was lead singer in the band T Junkshun who performed at 68 on LowerMain in Observatory, Kommetjie Rock the Surf Festival, Ferryman’s at The Waterfront, Hout Bay Harbour Market, Tokai Forest Market and private functions.
Willem Labuschagne ~ Guitar & Vocals
Willem was a guitarist and vocalist in various bands in Zimbabwe:; 1.4.U, Out of the Blue, Identity, Earthbound & Fat Wallet Blues, Band as well as playing bass in a Queen Tribute Show. After moving to Cape Town, he filled in for a while in the band Infinity, played with Mike McCullough as well as playing as a solo artist at a number of venues around Cape Town. Willem was also involved in the early days of the band BarreCode & was a major contributor to the creation of their originals. Willem was also the guitarist in T Junkshun.
